KWSC Invests in SLC Field Lights
The Kingston Women’s Soccer Club's 2014/2015 Executive Board is proud to announce that we have entered into an agreement with St. Lawrence College and contributed $100,000 toward the erection of stadium lights on the College’s soccer field.
In 2011, KWSC approached St. Lawrence College and initiated talks about investing in the field lights. At this point several options had been presented to the membership for investing the money accumulated in the club’s Field Fund. The SLC field lighting project was deemed the most viable.
The total cost of the lights is estimated at $265,000. In addition to KWSC’s contribution, the SLC Student Athletic Association and a private donor have also invested in this project.
KWSC’s investment guarantees us full field rental for 10 hours weekly, including maintenance and field lining costs, and ensures the Kingston Women's Soccer Club priority booking prior to March 1st of each calendar year. The agreement is valid for 15 years.
The Board would like to thank Herb Steacy, Gord MacDougall, and Wanda Williams, our negotiation partners at St. Lawrence College, KWSC Past President Sandi Wright, Bob Machin and Executive Board members, Louise Winn, Marguerite Heer, Ginette Blais, Rachel Brace, and Sherry Gibson for their dedication to making this partnership a reality.
We are excited by this opportunity to strengthen our relationship with the College, to enhance our role and reputation within the community, and to provide you with a first-rate playing experience for years to come.
Sincerely,
Rachel Brace, President
On behalf of your KWSC Executive Board of Directors
